One Nightstand

One Nightstand

Let’s Talk About That One Nightstand (Yes, Yours)

I know I might step on a few toes with this one, but… your nightstand is not your junk drawer. It’s not a catch-all for random receipts, hair ties, and the half empty lotion bottle. It’s a piece of your bedroom that deserves just as much love as the rest of your space.

I’m not here to judge — I’m here to help you get it together so your nightstand works for you and not against you. Because trust me, a well-styled, functional nightstand can change the whole vibe of your bedroom.

A good nightstand should have at least two of these five elements:

  1. LightingTable lamp or wall sconce.

  2. Floral arrangement Fresh or faux, it adds life.

  3. Decorative booksStack them, display them, let them set the tone.

  4. Storage box Cute and functional for hiding small items.

  5. Catch-all tray For intentional essentials, not clutter.

Now, how you combine these is up to you — but style matters.
Think about visual balance: highs and lows, different shapes, and layered textures.

  • If you have a table lamp, pair it with a shorter stack of books or a tray on the opposite side for balance.

  • If you have a wall sconce, you’ve got more surface space for a floral arrangement, stacked books, or a decorative box.

  • Mix functional elements (lighting, boxes, trays) with purely decorative ones (florals, books) to keep it interesting.

The real secret? Keep it clean, keep it organized. Your nightstand should be something you actually romanticize every night — a little moment of calm before bed.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about decor. It’s about creating a space that feels intentional, elevated, and just a little bit luxurious.

Here's a cheatsheet to my fav things for your nightstand.
